BISS Ch. Wyndlair National Anthem

Anna brings us another beautiful blue merle bitch with proud picture, outline, substance, soundness, and expression. She has been a prolific producer for us, stamping her puppies with Wyndlair style and detail.

Anna was our pick puppy from perhaps our biggest gamble ever. For her iconic dam’s last litter, we decided to dip back into some of our greatest early dogs using some of the last frozen semen from the Avalanche son, Ch. Taliesin Continuum. In our swing for the fences, we regained elements of Wyndlair type we thought might have been lost forever.

As a puppy, Anna jumped out of the gate quickly, winning specialty majors under respected breeder judges Debbie Falk (Aurealis) and Lee Runnels (Kimberee Collies). We were very excited about Anna heading into the 2020 CCA National Specialty in the Bred By Exhibitor class, only to have it canceled shortly prior due to the pandemic.

Pivoting on an unforeseen curveball, we bred Anna to the GCHB. Wyndlair Point Given son, Ch. Tavern Hill Limerick Celtic Classic. We were blessed with a large healthy litter, and at barely 8 months, her blue merle daughter GCh. Wyndlair Star Spangled finished undefeated in the classes with 4 specialty majors and a Best in Sweepstakes becoming the youngest champion in the breed for 2021. She then went on to become the youngest Grand Champion in the breed. As a special she is a Best in Show, Multiple Group 1, and CCA Award of Merit winner.

Another daughter BISS Nr. Ch. Wyndlair Cherokee Independence is a BISS winner from the classes and 2024 CCA 1st Open Tri-Color. She figures to be a cornerstone in our breeding program. Anna proved to be a powerful typesetter in her first litter and we are excited to see what she does as a pillar of our breeding program.

After sitting at home for almost two years, Anna returned to the ring to finish at her next specialty (Central States Collie Club) going WB/BW/BV/BB over almost 20 specials, including the current #1 Rough and #1 Smooth specials — who would go on to take Best of Breed and Best Opposite/Best of Breed at the 2022 CCA National a month later. Anna herself made it to the final cut at the 2022 National, taking a CCA Award of Merit under Judge Nancy Anstruther (Tallywood Collies).

For Anna’s final litter, she will be bred the GCHG. Southland Aurealis Island Nights, ROM for a Winter 2025 litter.
